JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Title:                             Skatepark Attendant

Department/Division:  Skate Park                                                                   

Status:                          Part-Time / Hourly

Supervisor:                   Fitness Center Manager

Subordinates:               None

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The attendant is tasked with ensuring the safety rules and regulations of the Skate Park.  The Skate Park Attendant is responsible for the Skate Park's activities.  The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents the community in a professional and competent manner.
  • Creates a welcome and friendly environment.
  • Ensures that all customers understand rules and policies of the Skate Park. 
  • Responsible for opening and closing Skate Park at assigned times. 
  • Monitors activities within the Skate Park and its surrounding areas.
  • Answers questions or refers public to appropriate Pala Band of Mission Indians staff when needed.
  • Enforces zero tolerance drug and alcohol on the premises.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Fitness Center Director.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees, and guests.
  • Communicate effectively with people of various ages. 
  • Ability to adapt to change. 
  • Work as a collaborative member of a team.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant's must be at least 16 year's old.
  • Work a flexible schedule based on program needs. 
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians.  Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing prior to job offer. 
  • May be required to work in extremes of weather ranging from heat to cold. 
  • Requires frequent bending, turning, reaching, grasping, kneeling, standing, sitting and walking; and moderate to heavy pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
  • Indian preference will apply. The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal Members. Pala Band of Mission Indians is an equal opportunity employer.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

All employees are expected to follow the Tribal Employee Handbook of the Pala Band of Mission Indians and must adhere to any additional applicable addendums.

 

If employed by the Pala Band of Mission Indians the new hire is required to obtain a First Aid certification, and CPR certification within 90 days of their hire date.
