JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Title:                              Flagger

Department/Division:  Pala Raceway

Salary:                          Hourly                                          

Status:                          Part-time position available (MUST be able to work weekends / MUST be at least 18 years old))

Supervisor:                  Raceway Manager, Lead Flagger

Subordinates:              None

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Raceway Flagger position provides a lookout for any issues on the track that might be a danger or cause an accident.  The Flagger will keep tracks free from debris. The Flagger will be the first to notify and report any accidents and flag for them.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for flagging any accidents on tracks.
  • Responsible for notifiying EMT over radio if an accident occurs on the tracks.
  • Water the tracks to reduce dust.
  • Responsible for spotting any rocks or debris on tracks and removing them to prevent accidents.
  • Trash pick-up along track fences.
  • Responsible for emptying trash cans at the end of the day.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Raceway Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees, vendors and contractors.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age for employment is 18 or older, and have weekend and weekend availability. 
  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians.  Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing prior to job offer. 
  • Indian preference will apply. The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal Members. Pala Band of Mission Indians is an equal opportunity employer.
